About us
Since its founding in 2004, Athlete-Brand has been an affirming organization that strives to help student/athletes discover the full range of their talents and potential. Athlete-Brand creates and offers a challenging opportunity for the next step.
Talented Japanese players have no place to go
There are many talented athletes who just quit the sports not because they do not play anymore nor do have talents for the next level but because there aren’t many opportunities. Japanese college baseball teams are only 368 teams as opposed to over 1400 in the states. (Other college sports team have similar numbers or even smaller.)
According to a MLB scouts, quite a few of those who quit are good enough to play at the next level.
Fundamental, good attitude, work ethic
In general, Japanese players have done a lot of practices during the high school career. -They have practiced 365 days a year for three or more years, which means that they have solid fundamentals, high baseball IQ and work ethic as well as good attitudes.
The number of the Japanese athletes who want to play in US is growing and growing since more and more Japanese pro players have played in Major Leagues.
There are simply not enough opportunities for those players to showcase themselves to coaches ad scouts in US.
Creating the opportunity and support the players to challenge the opportunity is very important and that is our mission.
We need your help
Just like in the movie “Jerry McGuire”, “Help me, help you.”
Helping Japanese players will ultimately help you and your team, we strongly believe.
No scholarship negotiation
Japanese players just want the opportunity. There are quite a few players who appreciate the opportunity to be in the roster or be with the team. They are not looking for the scholarship. We, Athlete-Brand, will not negotiate the scholarship for the player but the opportunity to play. Of course, it will be accepted by the player if there is an offer. That will be up to the players and the family members. We just don’t think the scholarship as the negotiation tool.
To coaches,
Once again,
this is new, risk-free avenue to recruit the athletes that few coaches know yet.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in giving Japanese players opportunities
